The Chevy 10 was first introduced in 1960 with a 4.3 liter straight 6 and a 4.6 liter V8 engine with 185 horsepower. The Chevy 10 series was produced from 1960 until 1998 and saw radical changes to both body and engine design. Many of the new concepts Chevrolet introduced with this series produced sweeping changing throughout the auto industry. 1975 saw the Chevy 10 series introduce the 185 hp 400 cu in (6.6L) V8 engine. Chevrolet had long envisioned trucks being viewed as vehicles for everyday use rather than just for work and were now seeing this become reality.
