Mercedes is a German automaker renowned for their high performance luxury cars, trucks, buses, and coaches. They are owned by the German car corporation, Daimler AG. The company has been in the forefront of introducing a variety of safety and technological features which are common in many modern vehicles. SWEngines has some of the best quality used Mercedes engines which can be yours at some of the lowest rates available.
Mercedes' technological prowess has allowed them to stay a step ahead of the competition in pretty much every category. Their commitment to quality and durability ever since their inception has been unmatched. Mercedes has dealership in over 130 countries and their range of passenger, heavy and light commercial vehicles, are under production on a global scale. The Mercedes Benz 300D comes with a 3.0 liter five cylinder direct injection diesel engine which produces 88 hp. Also is the 300D Turbo Diesel, powered by a 3.0 liter five cylinder turbocharged engine. The engine can generate 119 to 123 hp which has resulted in a considerable improvement in performance while still maintaining the top notch reliability and efficiency of the earlier models. The 350-class is available in two configurations, the 350D and the 350SDL both of which are sedans and were powered by a 3.5 liter, 6 cylinder inline diesel engine which generated 14 hp. The production of the 300D ended in 1985, but almost 75% of these cars can be still seen on the roads almost 20 yrs later, a true testament to the reliability of these cars.
Another renowned car in the Mercedes stable is the 300 SEL 6.3. It started as a private venture by an employee in the company by the name of Erich Waxenberger. This car would finally culminate into the world's first “Q car” or rather the first “Super Saloon”. The car was born out of a simple principle, take out the 6.3 L V8 M100 engine from the Mercedes Benz 600 limo and squeeze it into a normal W109 S-Class which had only 6 cylinders at the time. The result was a 2-tonne car which displayed the performance of some of the best sports cars of the era. Mercedes, known for its rather conservative outlook surprised everyone when it went ahead with the production of the car in 1968. This car was followed by the Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9 which sported even more power.
