used Cadillac SRX engines

The Cadillac SXR is produced by General Motors for the Cadillac line. This vehicle is a mid size luxury crossover sport utility vehicle, assemble at the Lansing Grand River Plant in Lansing, Michigan in the United States. The first generation of the SUV was built on the GM Sigma platform utilizing a five door body style. The first engines used in the SXR included a 3.6 L High-Feature V6 engine and the 4.6 L Cadillac Northstar V8 engine.

Both engines came with either a five speed 5L40-E automatic transmisson or a six speed transmission. Rear wheel drive and four wheel drive were offered as well with these engines. Intended as a luxury automobile, the SXR included leather interior, side curtain airbags, heated front seats, dvd player, sunroof, navigation system and power third row seats. Although standard with the V8 engine, these were options for the V6.

No major changes were made for the 2006 models though in 2007 some upgrades were made. These upgrades mainly pertained to the interior of the vehicle with more luxurious detailing being the only major change. For 2007 again no major changes were made although a sport trim package was included for the 2007 this mainly dealt with the superficial appearance of the vehicle rather than major design changes. The largest of this would be an addition of larger wheels and less chrome on the body.

The first generation of the Cadillac SRX is scheduled to remain in production through 2009. A redesigned second generation is slated to begin production for the 2010 model year. Though still called the Cadillac SRX, it is known in other places as the Cadillac Provoq. The location of assembly of the automobile will change as well. Cadillac will now assembled this vehicle at an assembly plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. The second generation will feature both a 2.8 L Turbo V6 and a 3.0 L VVT E85 V6 Direct-injection engine.
