The Chevy Aveo is representative of the automakers awareness of a need for smaller, more fuel efficient cars. With this in mind Chevy has offered both versions of the Chevy Aveo with a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine that delivers 103 horsepower and 107 pound-feet of torque.
The Chevy Aveo engine, though small in size, has plenty of pick up even in the automatic version and still preserves the great fuel economy is was built for. Aveo’s 1.6 liter engine has plenty of power for zipping around town, even with an automatic, and even on the highway it performs just as well.
For 2009 Chevrolet has redesigned the Aveo with some sportier features although it is still available in the four door sedan as well as the hatchback. The real winner in the new Aveo is the engine. This years models still have a 1.6 liter engine, however the fuel economy has been increased on both the highway and in the city.
