The Chevy Spectrum was released in the us in 1985 as a compact car. The Spectrum was a really a rebadged version of the Isuzu I- Mark. and very similar in styling to the Geo Storm. GM differentiated between the tow by styling the Spectrum with a wide front grille wil square grid openings and sealed beam headlights with front side marker lights that were located on the sides of the front bumper.
The Spectrum was offered in 2 body styles: the 2 door hatchback and the 4 door sedan. Bother were powered with a 1.5 Liter inline 4 cylinder engine.In 1989 the Spectrum received a light facelift when the gille was widened to alarge rectangle with two cross bars. Slight updates to the interior were effected as well and the transmission and engine remained the same.
1989 was also the last year the Spectrum would carry the Chevy name plate, passing for a short period as a Geo Spectrum before being dropped completely in 1990.
