5.  Honda Civic

Popular since its first appearance 40 years ago, the Civic is still going strong.  In fact, it had an over 40% boost in sales since 2011.  Civics run on a 1.8L in-line 4-cylinder engine, and get 28/39 mpg.  Bought for practicality and comfort, Civics start at an MSRP $18,165.  Like the Altima, you can also get a Civic as a coupe.
