“Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.” Actually, roads don’t seem to be disappearing anywhere in the near future, and we remain rather dependent on them. But what we put on those roads is constantly changing.

As people have a constant need to travel, automotive industries and innovators alike have been working to solve problems caused by driving and to make it more enjoyable. The last post here talked about Nissan’s new steering technology that reduces driver error, swerving, and helps to avoid collisions. Other companies continue to develop new safety features for cars.

Beyond that, cars are beginning to take the leap from safety technologies to fully autonomous vehicles, with many conceptual cars and an astonishing amount of cars currently on the road or being tested with autonomous functionality.

Like this, only...better.

As pollution or gas prices continue to be issues, more hybrid fuel cars are being developed, but these are slowly being eclipsed by the idea of the electric car. Although fully electronic automobiles seem to be a bit impractical yet, progress towards affordable, reliable electronic cars continue.
