“Remember to get your oil change after every 3,000 miles!” Not no more! Oil today has advanced so far in comparison to about 30 years ago when you needed to get an oil change after every 3,000 miles. We only keep getting oil changes still after the 3,000 mark hits because the nice mechanic tells us to, yet we do not want to read our owner’s manual to double-check. Always check the owner’s manual for any questions you have about your car. Just because mechanics and friends tell you what they think they know about your car or in general, does not mean that they are correct when it comes to your cars specific needs.
Cars now-a-days can go up to 15,000 miles in between oil changes at times! A lot of us do follow our little light that comes on our dashboard tell us to “Change Engine Oil.” Almost everyone should listen to your low oil reminder! Your car knows itself best and by listening to your car and reading your owner’s manual, you can save a lot of money and trips to the local mechanic.
